2014 events!


We have just entered 2014 and this brings new events worldwide. On January 1st, Televisió de catalunya showed in a long video (from a Catalan perspective) the events to occur during the year  in 2014. Among them, it highlighted the Dakar motor test which is held the first days of January in South America. It also highlighted the Sochi Winter Games that will be inaugurated in February despite the controversy surrounding them. Other events that appear in the news are the start of the Formula 1 world , the motorcycling Cup final in Spain and Europe, Club World Cup soccer, the Tour de France, the European swimming. Above all of them, the most anticipated event of the year is the Football World Cup in Brazil to be played next summer with favourite teams as Brazil, Argentina, Germany and Spain, that will defend the title earned in South Africa in 2010.

The video also made ​​reference to the cycling world cup to be held next September in Ponferrada, where Catalan Purito Rodriguez will try to win after the silver medal obtained in the last world championship. Finally, Spain will also host the World Cup in basketball, which will have some matchs in Barcelona with the best teams in the world!

Successful "Cursa dels Nassos" and happy 2014!

The race, which took place pastTuesday on a street circuit in Barcelona, had 11,495 registered runners,  an absolute record in the history of the race.

At the halfway point of the tour, a group of ten riders, among whom were the favorites led by Pol Guillen, along with Samir Ait Bouychamane, Nacho Caceres, Ilias Fifa, and Driss Lakhouaja ​, setting the pace of the race.

The group was reduced to three Moroccan runners with Ilias Fifa, Samir Ait and Ibrahim Ezzaydouni. Fifa gave a change of pace for the final two kilometers of the route, imposing Samir Ait in 20 seconds and Ezzaydouni for 28 seconds in a race with a clear dominance of North African runners .
Ilias Fifa, 24 years old, won the race in 2010 and was second in the last two editions, with a best time of 28:34 in the distance. He has removed the thorn with his second win at the San Silvestre Barcelona , but the brand has failed to break the record shows that Carlos Castillejo, who has competed in was recovering from an injury with 28:29 , achieved his victory last year.
The runner Lydia Rodriguez, L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, has won a clear advantage over their rivals and achieved his third consecutive win , a record of wins in the race.
Rodriguez, the second runner Jean Bouin 2013 and 10,000 meters in Spain ( 2012 ) , set a time of 33:04 , far from the record evidence that shows Rosa Morato with 32:06 since 2009 , but 31 seconds exceeded in the Alicante Gem Borrachina second with 33:35 , and Marisa Barcelona Casanueva ( New Balance 's team ) , Spain 10 km runner , third in 1:08 .
In the category of wheelchair, George Wood was the winner with a time of 30:28 .
